Who we are
TraitAtlas is operated by The Tiny Apps Company ("we"). For tests you take yourself, we decide why and how your data is processed. When an organisation invites you and pays for your assessment, that organisation decides the purpose and we process your data on its behalf under a written agreement.
What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Name, email, password (hashed) | To create your account and let you sign in |
| Your answers and calculated scores | To produce your reports, Atlas Profile and comparisons you ask for |
| About you (optional): birth year, life stage, field and goal | To tailor your Atlas Profile's examples and suggestions. You pick from fixed lists and never type your own words, and you can edit or clear them at any time in your account. |
| How you'd like us to address you (optional: he, she or neutral) | Only for grammar in Hindi, Hinglish and Gujarati. We ask only once one of those languages is switched on. |
| Your ratings of your Atlas Profile (optional) | "Sounds like me", "Partly" or "Not really" for each section, linked to that profile, to improve the instructions we give the AI. There's no space for written comments. |
| Wellbeing Check-in answers (optional) | How you've been feeling over the last two weeks, to give you your check-in. This test is personal only: it is never offered through an employer, never shared or sent to AI, and you can delete it at any time. |
| Orders, coupons and payment references | To unlock what you paid for, apply discounts and referral rewards, and for tax records. Card and bank details go directly to Razorpay; we never see them. |
| Consent records and an audit log | To show what you agreed to, and when an organisation opened a report |
| Basic technical data (IP address, browser) | Security, fraud prevention and rate limiting |
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising, and we never ask about religion or caste.
Who can see your results
- You can always see reports you buy yourself. They live in your personal space and stay private unless you share them.
- An organisation that pays for your assessment can see your full report, and we tell you this before you start. The organisation decides whether you can see that report too, for the whole round or for you individually. Every time it opens a report, it's logged. Org-paid results stay in that organisation's space and never mix into your personal space or Atlas Profile. Your About you choices are never used for org-paid reports, and the organisation never sees them.
- People you share with. If you turn on a public link, anyone with the link sees your share card: the test, your headline and character, and your first name if you choose. Never your scores, answers or email. You can switch it off at any time.
- A friend you compare with sees both of your headlines and characters, and once the comparison is unlocked, where each of you sits on each scale. Never your answers.
- Our staff access data only to support you or keep the service secure, and that access is logged.
- Service providers process data for us under contract: hosting, email delivery, payments (Razorpay) and AI providers (below).
How we use AI
Atlas Profiles, manager's guides and team summaries are written by AI, and only when someone asks for one. For your Atlas Profile or a manager's guide, we send the AI provider your first name and your test results (test titles, headlines, characters and scale scores). We never send your email, surname, answers or Wellbeing results. Team summaries use only combined results for the group. Our current provider is Anthropic; we may use other providers under the same rules. AI never sets or changes your scores.
About you. Before you create your Atlas Profile, you can add some optional context: your birth year, life stage, field and current goal. You pick each one from a fixed list; there's nothing to type. If you add them, we send them with your Atlas Profile request, but we turn your birth year into an age band (18-22, 23-27, 28-34, 35-44, 45-54 or 55+). Your exact birth year is never sent. The AI is told to use this only to make examples and suggestions fit your life, and never to explain or predict your traits from your age or gender. About you is never used for employer-paid reports, manager's guides or team summaries, and employers never see it. You can edit or clear it at any time in your account. Changes apply to your next Atlas Profile version, which uses a credit as usual.
How we address you. If you choose he, she or neutral, we use it only for grammar in Hindi, Hinglish and Gujarati. We ask only once one of those languages is switched on, and we don't send it to AI while Atlas Profiles are written in English.
Your ratings. You can rate each section of your Atlas Profile "Sounds like me", "Partly" or "Not really". We keep these ratings linked to that profile and use them to improve the instructions we give the AI. There's no space for written comments.
Consent
We ask for your consent before you start an assessment and record it. If an organisation invited you, the consent screen says plainly that it will see your full report. Marketing emails are a separate, optional consent. You can withdraw consent at any time; this doesn't affect processing that already happened.
Age
TraitAtlas is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly process children's data. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us and we'll delete their data.
How long we keep data
- Assessment data and Atlas Profiles: until you delete them or your account, or 3 years after your last sign-in.
- About you and your Atlas Profile ratings: kept with your account. You can clear About you at any time in your account, and deleting your assessment data also deletes your Atlas Profiles and their ratings.
- Unfinished assessments: marked abandoned after 30 days of inactivity and deleted after 12 months.
- Payment records: 8 years, as required by Indian tax law.
- Audit logs: 2 years.
Your rights
You can access, correct and erase your personal data, withdraw consent, nominate someone to exercise your rights, and raise a grievance. Most of this is self-service in your account: download your data as a file (it includes your About you choices and ratings), or delete your assessment data instantly. For anything else, use the request form in your account or email support@traitatlas.local. We respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Passwords are hashed, invitation and share links are long random tokens, payments are verified on our server before anything is unlocked, and access to org-paid reports is logged. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
